About GoLoco
GoLoco was created to fill what we see as a pressing consumer need -- to share car travel, split costs, and reduce emissions – in a world with few alternatives. How else can you cost-effectively get between locations not served by transit, or expensively served by bus, train, or plane? We also seek to use social networking, electronic payment, the internet, and mobile media tools to reduce the hassle and increase the benefits of ride-sharing.
Our team has a long history of working together in the realm of transportation, internet, wireless technology, and consumer services.
Robin Chase, CEO, was founder and former CEO of Zipcar. For many years she has consulted to companies, institutions, and government agencies at all levels on issues of personal mobility, innovation, and wireless technology as applied to transportation. She lectures widely; you can see her TED talk here.
Roy Russell, CTO, was CTO of Zipcar for over 6 years. Prior to that he managed software development for several startups and large high tech companies.
Mark Chase, Transportation Planning and Development Director, oversaw business development efforts at Zipcar 2000 - 2004; consults and lectures on parking and transportation issues; and teaches transportation planning at Tufts University.
